Working prototype
A mobile countdown experience designed to make anticipation feel like part of the journey itself.
The starting question
What if a countdown did more than report how many days remain - what if opening it felt like briefly stepping into the trip?
The system
Most countdown apps are functional but emotionally flat. Until Rope Drop treats the waiting period as a product experience, combining themed environments, motion, sound, and small moments of discovery around one very simple utility.
The challenge is restraint. The product has to feel alive without making the countdown harder to read, and its commercial model has to fund continued development without weakening the free experience.
Design principles
The countdown remains the clearest element on every screen.
Themes change atmosphere, not merely color.
Motion supports anticipation without demanding attention.
Paid options expand personalization instead of repairing an intentionally weak core product.

What it demonstrates
Product direction across experience design, software architecture, commercialization, and release planning - all organized around a narrow emotional promise.
